Certified Athletic Therapist

CAT (C)

  • Four year Bachelor’s Degree specifically Athletic and Exercise Therapy at Camosun College in Victoria

  • 1200 + hours of practical experience before graduation working with a wide variety of sports teams, several different clinics and workplace settings between Courtenay and Victoria including rugby, football, ice hockey, box and field lacrosse, equestrian riders, snow skiers, snowboarders, etc… With clinical hours spent working alongside Certified Athletic Therapists, Chiropractics, Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Massage Therapists… PLUS significant amount of time spent doing ergonomic assessment workplace visits in mills as well

  • Successful completion of certification exam with four different practical exams twenty minutes each: emergency conditions, sideline assessment, clinical assessment, and clinical rehabilitation as well as a written exam
